Lrosetti - For A.03.02 you'll need a computer running Win 3.x (we formerly used 486 and Pentium I CPUs). From what I know, you'll need an interface HPIB board which mounts to the rear panel of the 5890II and attaches to the GC board with a ribbon cable. That HPIB interface attaches to the HPIB board in the CPU using HPIB cable. If you have an autosampler, its control box will also attach using a second HPIB cable. I just checked, I have G2070-90100 'Understanding your Chemstation' A.03 and G2170-90000 'Installing your Chemstation' A.03 but that's for 2D HPLC, but almost exactly the same. Installation of the software is straightforward; there's really nothing in the manuals about which interface boards are needed, or where they go.
As moino stated, the newer software versions and manuals are VERY similar; the main differences are that A.03 doesn't have the graphics of the later versions, and that the newer versions integrate the sequence recalibration events into the Sequence Table, where in A.03 that is saved as part of the Method (for example, 'replace' and 'average' are designated by numbers). I am not allowed by my company to 'sell' stuff like this, but I can answer your questions.
